🔥 Welcome to HOCATT Training

HOCATT is one of our most advanced wellness technologies – a head-out sauna that delivers multiple therapies simultaneously in one powerful 30-minute session. Patients love the deep relaxation, improved energy, and overall sense of wellbeing they experience.

💡 What is HOCATT?

Hyperthermic Ozone & Carbonic Acid Transdermal Technology – a wellness chamber combining steam, infrared heat, CO2/carbonic acid, ozone, oxygen breathing, and optional therapies like PEMF and microcurrent – all in one session!

Key Safety Design

✓ Head-Out Design

The patient's head stays outside the chamber at all times. They breathe pure humidified oxygen through a nasal cannula – never ozone. The ozone stays in the chamber with the body only.

⚡ The Modalities Explained

Understanding each component helps you explain the session confidently to patients.

Heat Therapies

💨
Steam Sauna
Warms the body, opens pores, promotes sweating for relaxation and circulation support.
🔴
Far Infrared (FIR)
Radiant heat that penetrates deeper than steam alone, supporting tissue relaxation and comfort.

CO2 & Ozone (The Core Sequence)

💭
CO2/Carbonic Acid Phase (First 3-8 min)
CO2 enters the chamber and converts to carbonic acid on the skin. This triggers the "Bohr effect" – supporting oxygen release from blood cells and enhancing peripheral circulation. Think of it as priming the body for the ozone phase.
Transdermal Ozone Phase (Remainder)
After CO2, ozone is delivered through the steam to the skin. The body absorbs it transdermally – supporting oxidative signaling and antioxidant response. Patients never breathe ozone – head stays outside!

Oxygen Breathing

🌬️
Humidified Oxygen (Throughout)
Via nasal cannula – built-in concentrator delivers 93-97% pure oxygen at 5 LPM. Supports comfort and energy during the heat exposure.

Optional Modalities

🧲
PEMF (Platinum model)
Pulsed electromagnetic fields with evidence supporting pain and function benefits. Contraindicated with pacemakers/implants.
〰️
FSM (Microcurrent)
Low-level electrical stimulation via electrode pads. Multiple programs available. Contraindicated with electrical implants.
🌈
Photon Light & Essential Oils
Colored light and aromatherapy for relaxation and enhanced session experience.

🔄 Session Flow

Pre-Session (5-10 min)

  • 1Screen contraindications (use checklist)
  • 2Confirm hydration & food timing
  • 3Take vitals if higher-risk patient
  • 4Patient removes jewelry, secures hair
  • 5Patient changes privately, wraps in towel

During Session (25-30 min)

Setup

Patient sits with head outside • Neck seal positioned • O2 cannula in place • Heart monitor if used

Heat Phase (Continuous)

Steam + far infrared warm the body • Induces sweating • Raises core temperature

CO2/Carbonic Acid (First 3-8 min)

CO2 enters chamber • Converts to carbonic acid on skin • Primes circulation via Bohr effect

Ozone Phase (Remainder)

Ozone delivered in steam to skin • Head stays outside • Patient breathes oxygen only

End: Extraction Cycle

⚠️ CRITICAL: Machine extracts gases into ozone destructor BEFORE doors open

🚨 Critical Safety Step

Wait for extraction cycle to complete before opening doors! This removes ozone from the chamber. Never rush this step.

Post-Session (10-30 min)

  • 1Assist patient out slowly (BP may drop)
  • 2Have them rest 10-15 minutes
  • 3Provide ~500ml water before dressing
  • 4Monitor for dizziness, headache, nausea
  • 5Give post-session instructions
  • 6Document response

📋 Quick Reference

  • ⏱️ Session: 25-30 minutes
  • 💭 CO2 phase: First 3-8 minutes
  • Ozone phase: Remainder of session
  • 🌬️ Oxygen: 5 LPM, 93-97% purity
  • 🚨 Always: Wait for extraction before opening

🛡️ Safety & Contraindications

⚠️ Ozone Safety

Ozone is hazardous to inhale. That's why the head-out design, extraction system, and room ventilation are safety-critical. Never skip the extraction cycle.
